Numbers Resolution

When you send emails to smsPULSE, containing names instead of numbers, smsPULSE will attempt to resolve these names and convert them numbers.

Order of search
smsPULSE Search directory in the following order:
1. In the built-in directory

  1. Contact name
  2. Simple groups
  3. Smart Group
  4. Category (of contacts)
  5. Group of categories
2. The corporate directory
  1. Person name
  2. Group name
  3. Group of groups

Addressing formats
You can specify names in a variety of ways. The following formats are supported:
  1. Number@domain
  2. Name@domain
  3. GroupName@domain
  4. CategoryName@domain
  5. Number#Name#GroupName@domain (using the "#" sign)
And of course you can address an email with multiple entries, too.

Corporate Directory Groups
From version 7.8 smsPULSE will resolve data in the corporate directory groups by trying to resolve person and group names first, and if none are found, each group member is checked to see if it contains a mobile number.

Storing numbers in your corporate directory
smsPULSE looks for the number you stored in the corporate directory, as shown below:

Number format
Please remember that when you type a number into a person or contact record in your corporate directory it must be listed correctly. See here Database 'sms.HELP', View 'Help Documents', Document 'Number Format'.

smsPULSE for Windows Server
When this server is used, you can synchronise your Active Directory/Exchange Directory with the smsPULSE Server. This then allows smsPULSE to provide the same function of number resolution using names, both at group and contact levels.
