System Configuration

The system profile in smsPULSE stores key information required for the operation of the software. You do not have to fill it while in evaluation mode. Each field is a document and should be self explanatory.

When you use the Web UI, login as system administrator:

To open the system profile, open the sms.ADMIN database and click on System Profile:


smsPULSE tasks access this information when they load. To affect the changes you must restart the server tasks or allow smsPULSE to do this automatically when prompted. If you make changes that may affect smsROUTER or smsLINES please restart these as well.

The basic screen must be set in order to use the system although in evaluation mode certain defaults will be assumed.


It is recommended that you retrieve your latest licence from smsPULSE.com with the release of each major upgrade. You can also find if your entitled to use the latest software by ensuring that the support date is later than the software release date.



Alerts are important to have set. Always consider using groups.


Some optional fields are listed below. To allow licensed MMS you must authorise it, as showing below. Please note that you do not have to allow MMS outbound in order to receive MMS but your server must still be licensed. MMS services are new with smsPULSE V5.

smsPULSE offers protections from abuse in a variety of flexible ways. You can set these simply, as shown below.

When using smsPULSE in Multi-Mode, HTTPS and GSM, you can force the system to send messages to number groups or individuals. This is useful in areas where HTTPS cover is incomplete or GSM cost is lower. You may also force all local numbers to go via GSM, as you have a cheep local SMS arrangement, and take advantage of our relative low cost on foreign destinations.
